Other than the Heritage Lottery Fund does anyone know of any other funding that can be accessed for Heritage Projects. We want to start a project working to identify all local historic buildings “a local list”.

We want to do this because although some of the buidlings in the local area may not be of national interest they hold a lof of importance to the local community and we want to have a way that planners and developers can view this in a formal manner.

Any help would be very welcome.

The Civic Trust have been approached by a Number of Civic Societies in the past few months to give them assistance in setting up a Local List.

In the first instance we are able to offer you a central database to record all the buildings in an agreed form. This should allow you to get people to input information automatically online and will reduce any need for data entry. This offers benefits as it will reduce your administration and allow people to participate at any point in time. We can offer this to any Society that feels they would benefit from it.

Regarding funding The Civic Trust feel if enough Civic Societies would be interested in doing this type of project we could put a more substantial bid into HLF as a working group to do this across the country.

We would be interested to know if your Civic Society is doing or thinking of doing something similar.
