We are keen to work with businesses on practical issues where we hope to be able to share skills and knowledge and we would like to invite to consider inviting sponsorship. For example, we will seek sponsorship for the production of new leaflets about the Society and its work. Before we proceed with this has any other Civic Society implemented a Corporate Sponsorship scheme.
Some of our members are concerned that if we invite sponsors it may lead us open to question when we may have to campaign against a particular developer. Obviously one of the methods we could employ is not to accept sponsorship from developers but before we make this decision how do other Civic Societies manage to be an “independent” yet still seek the necessary financial support.
