The Civic Trust launched Griff Rhys Jones as our new President on Tuesday 17th June. Griff is passionate about the things that matter to the Trust and our members - the quality of our environment, heritage - and making better places. He holds a strong belief that people should take responsibility for improving the places that matter to them - and that joining a civic society is a perfect way in which to do this.

What do you think about Griff joining as our President? Is there something that you would like to see him talk about, publicise or comment upon?

I am glad that Griff has endorsed The Chairman’s ideas of trying to build up a mass membership and by trying to get members to subscribe to the new Civic Societies website which is excellent.

I agree with Terry. We in our Civic Society sometime feel as though we are a little isolated from the rest of the movement. I really support Griff in trying to mobilse the movement to be a force for change.
Anything we can do we would happily contribute.

How can I learn more about the fund-raising campaign as mentioned in the latest issue of Grass Roots? Are any of Civic Societies involved?

No are Civic Society is not involved. The first we heard was through GrassRoots magazine (which I think is looking excellent with some very good features). I would like to promote the fact Griff Rhsy Jones is the president, how should I go about this? who is the best person to send me some information? We have a newsletter going out in December so a reply would be very welcome!
